RUNWAY2YOURWAY: CAPE CRUSADER

This season the CAPE has taken "flight" onto the runways from YSL to 3.1 Phillip Lim.  With its updated touches, the CAPE is redolent of little red riding taking a detour to New York City to have lunch  with Anna Wintour and the Vogue gang on Sixth Avenue.   This trend is for the woman who likes to take fashion risk and has the ability to transition this fall must into their fashion forward packed closets.  HATE IT OR LOVE IT the CAPE is definitely not your typical superhero uniform?    Below is the Runway inspirations:

WORD TO THE WISE-TIPS on Wearing:

-Ladies be very wary of trying this trend,  The Cape isn't for all body types.  The cape brings more a voluminous silhouette, which can make one look bigger or swallowed up depending how curvy or short you are.  IMO (in my opinion),  I say try it on and judge for yourself if looks great or just plain awkward.

-When trying to find the right CAPE, one must try to find in a heavy material like wool blend, tweed, or heavy cotton.  As for the tone go for like nude, camel, charcoal gray, plaid, navy, army green, black and even I dare say Leopard.

SIDE-NOTE: Yes, Leopard is a neutral IMO,  the rule with this is 1AAT=(one at a time).  This is something you must be cautious with.  Head to toe leopard is just a plain no-no. 1 piece of leopard limit zone= Excellent

-The Cape is great for transitioning from day to night in the fall season.  Whether you wear it over jeans with riding boots to black tights, pumps, and that perfect LBD=(little black dress).

Nothing says chic like a women covered in confidence and that perfect cape in tote.
